New X's & O's Project, Q&A & Schedule Update
A quick update on some of my projects and the upcoming schedule with the NBA coming back.
The NBA is coming back, which means it is time to prep for some film breakdowns, previews, and ideas moving forward. But the biggest news is a project that I and Ben Falk of CleaningTheGlass have been working on.
I'm really excited to finally share this project I've been working on for over a year now: a course to teach NBA Xs and Os from the ground up.
If you have ever wanted to know my process, how I term plays, break down film and put all of my playbooks and edits together - this course will have it all.
We've put a *ton* of info into it, with a goal that by the end of it you'll be able to see and talk the game like a coach.
We'll start with the basics and take you all the way up to advanced concepts. You'll absorb terminology alongside these concepts. And we'll have tons of video examples and diagrams so you can understand both what everything looks like and the diagrams coaches use to communicate.
Sound like something you or someone you know would be interested in?
Sign up here and we'll send you an early look at the table of contents, a draft of a lesson, and notify you when the course is available for purchase.
Plus: at the end of the week, we’ll pick a handful of random people on that mailing list to get a free early version of the course in exchange for giving us detailed feedback (and catching any typos!).
Schedule Update:
My goal was to do a team by team breakdown but my priority is to finish up the course first, then move on to the previews. Since we have started our team practices for the high school I coach, free time right now is at a premium! What I have decided to do moving forward is to create a 5 part preview with all of my tiers and rankings and then in those breakdowns have team previews. Right now I am planning for those previews to be released December 15th-20th before the NBA season starts so I can have preseason film to break down for some of the new coaches like Silas, Daignealt, and Bjorkgren who I haven’t been able to have a lot of film on previously.
Once the NBA season starts, at a minimum I will be releasing 3 breakdowns a week - but likely more for paying subscribers (5$ a month) and at least once a week for all. These will be special sets, concepts, or game breakdowns that I find from watching film from all week.
If you never want to miss a breakdown or support some of my work, you can subscribe for just 5$ a month or $50 per year.
Q&A
Just like in November, I responded to questions you had in a breakdown - and I will be doing the same thing at the end of December. If you have any questions leave them here or DM me on Twitter and I will get those answered!
Looking forward to the NBA coming back!
