76ers Offense Breakdown
A look into the revamped 76ers offense and why I enjoy watching them this year.
When Nick Nurse took over the 76ers, I was expecting a change in the flow of their offense but I did not expect this. Currently ranked #3 in offensive efficiency and after trading James Harden to the Clippers, the 76ers now have a very fun offensive system surrounding Embiid. Embiid’s ISOs are down, his playmaking is up, his turnovers are down and the combination of off-ball actions and movement from Maxey & Harris with a revamped transition offense make this 76ers team dangerous and difficult to defend.

Transition
The efficiency was there last season - finishing 3rd in transition points per 100 possessions. A significant difference from last season is the increased opportunities in virtually every scenario.
As seen from the image above, last season the frequency or the % of plays that started with a transition possession was 14% and this season it has increased to 18%. Going from ranking in the bottom 5 of the NBA to the top 5 in transition frequency is a welcomed sign for a team with Maxey leading the break.
