France Weakside Baseline out of Bounds
The go-to BOB from France for the past few years.
I love international basketball, both national teams as well as euroleague to discover new plays and good concepts. France made another deep run in the Olympics only falling to the US because of Steph Curry going nuclear after having a great run. Vincent Collet has been coaching France since 2009 and continues to have a great playbook, but his best and favorite baseline out of bounds stood out to me giving the US consistent problems since the 2020 Olympics.
The main appeal of this play is taking advantage of the lack of coverage on the weakside that teams in the NBA/International can take advantage of looking for basket cuts/corner 3’s.
Like any great baseline out of bounds play it is “triggered” or started with the player taking out slapping the ball.
Here Fournier is the player screening first in the middle of the floor, freezing his defender to either switch or stay attached.
Then Gobert goes into the middle of the floor, forcing AD to either shade on the basket screen at first or stay on Gobert setting the screen for Fournier.
AD here gets caught ball watching instead of helping on the screen so Jrue gets caught on the backside and the layup is open.
France also gives the option to the player in the middle to cut out to the wing instead of going toward the rim. Here Guerschon Yabusele cuts to the weakside corner in a late clock situation.

BOB counter Slip vs Switching
This isn’t the weakside BOB, but loved this slip vs switching & wanted to include it - simple, but effective.
