This week we had two full-court specials from Tom Izzo & the Hawks that both led to wins, and a great set from the Jazz vs switching to help seal the game late. With college and high school coming back, let me know by either responding here or reaching out to any teams you want to see covered or included in some of these breakdowns!

Upcoming Schedule
This week I will be taking a break from the normal Saturday deep dives, traveling to Ohio State for THE GAME! I anticipate a breakdown coming out early next week looking at early season sets that I really enjoyed.
Playcall of the Week
Memphis Grizzlies “Rub 5” Playcall
The Grizzlies call Rub 5 for the player they want to set the ballscreen.
Clearly taken from Budenholzer and his playbook, Rub is a common playcall for ballscreens in the NBA.

The Hawks also got a late-game full-court play when Trae Young was denied for the win:
Set of the Week
Utah Jazz | ATO Ram Veer Slip
The Jazz ran a great After Time Out set against the Suns in the 4th quarter starting off with a “Ram” screen or a downscreen before the ballscreen.
Markaanen sprints up into a ballscreen but fakes it and goes into a Veer screen for the player in the corner Clarkson.
Here we can see the Suns are disconnected here with Bridges and Booker leaving a good amount of space for the slip between them.
Booker chases Clarkson and Bridges jumps out to deny the pass on the switch and Lauri is wide open for the easy dunk.

Quote of the Week
Got this incredible quote from my good friend Zak Boisvert:
“Knowledge is knowing a tomato is a fruit, Wisdom is knowing not to put it in a fruit salad.”
Gif of the Week
A slick pass from Smart to Tatum, love the hesitation before the attack from Smart.
